Scientific Protein Laboratories is a biopharmaceutical leader in the development and cGMP compliant manufacturing of heparin, pancreatin, heparin derivatives, naturally derived pharmaceuticals, and recombinant proteins from microbial fermentation. We have an immediate opening in Waunakee, WI (Madison area) for a Supervisor of Quality Control to join our team.

This position is responsible for overseeing the QC Microbiology and PCR team. The QC Supervisor is critical to ensuring daily activities and demands are met for product testing turnaround time. The team is responsible for completing all microbial analyses at SPL as well as genomic testing of product using PCR based testing. The supervisor will work closely with team members on training, professional development, and ensuring compliance with cGMPs. 


• Ensure departmental compliance to cGMPs

• Manage technical projects within QC and for other departments as needed

• Provide technical guidance to QC analysts

• Develop team members

• Write and/or review studies, protocols, and method validations

• Provide guidance and support to the Microbiology and PCR labs on new laboratory methodologies and instrumentation

• Function as a liaison between QC and other departments for collaborations, investigations, and continuous improvement activities



Bachelor's Degree or above in Biochemistry/Biology/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Genetics or related discipline required. Associate’s degree in a relevant discipline with experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree education.

Relevant technical experience: 5 years required, 10+ years of preferred  

Leadership experience: 2 year required, 5+ years of preferred

GMP experience: 2 year required, 5+ years preferred
