What you'll be doing:

The Maintenance Technician I will complete all assigned tasks that are within the general maintenance field by utilizing the developing knowledge, ability, skills and desire for growth of an apprentice technician.


What you'll be responsible for:

  • Repair and service all general maintenance items, including door hardware, locks, window blinds, carpeting, cove base repairs, etc.
  • Replace lights as needed.
  • Clean and unstop drains.
  • Paint and clean mechanical rooms.
  • Pick up and deliver parts.
  • Change air filters.
  • Install building signage.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Take a leadership role when working in area of expertise.
  • Share skills and knowledge with all other fellow employees.
  • Develop and maintain good business relationships with all tenants.
  • Keep work areas clean at all times.

What we need from you:

  • High school diploma or GED and one to two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively communicate with employees, superiors and tenants.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving some variables.
  • Valid driver license required to operate company and/or personal vehicle to pick up supplies/parts and/or travel to other Childress Klein locations and/or attend company functions.
