Summary of Position

The Rock RMS Team Lead manages, maintains and develops Rock RMS, the management tool used at The Summit Church. This position oversees a full-time Rock Team Associate, benefits from a generous development retainer with the leading Rock RMS partner, and works directly with the Director of Digital Strategy. The Rock Team is responsible to keep the Summit Church's instance of Rock RMS reliable, efficient, and effective in meeting the needs of staff, guests, and members.


Qualifications and Requirements

  1. A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member.

  2. Be someone who can manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion, displaying a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability.

  3. 3-5 years experience in database management, church management systems, and/or experience with Rock RMS.

  4. Experience working through projects with clients to implement new solutions.

  5. Possess strong organizational, planning, and problem solving skills

  6. Have excellent communication skills.

  7. Love solving complex problems with simple elegant solutions.

  8. Are a self-learner who pushes yourself to constantly grow.

  9. Get excited thinking about how data can be a powerful tool that serves to help support the ministries of The Summit Church.

Preferred, but NOT required:

  1. Experience building workflows and reports.

  2. Experience working at a church or non-profit, and have a huge heart for ministry.

  3. Experience working with and writing SQL scripts.

  4. Familiar with front-end development using CSS, Less, jQuery and Bootstrap.

  5. Experience with Lava or Shopify’s Liquid templating language.



  • Become a subject matter expert in Rock RMS.

  • Help oversee the usage and application of Rock RMS to ensure consistency and accuracy.

  • Maintain, develop and implement various features of Rock RMS across The Summit Church.

  • Design and build upon the Rock RMS framework to allow non-technical users easy access to information that will aid them in making effective ministry decisions.

  • Help implement solutions using data views, reports, dashboards, workflows and other available tools in Rock RMS.

  • Set and enforce data entry policies and procedures providing solutions to our staff to eliminate outside forms, spreadsheets and/or other databases of information.

  • Assist guests and members in keeping their information current and accurate that will aid them in particular tasks like giving, registering for events, check-in, etc.

  • Responsible for overseeing the Rock Team Associate to help them grow and develop their Rock RMS skillset.
