POSITION SUMMARY:

The Employment Coordinator for Avivo’s Community Support Program will bring excitement, passion and mission focused innovation to CSP employment support. This role will support all members within Avivo’s CSP programs, working directly with the ArtWorks team. The Employment Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of employment services; monitoring for program quality; continuing growth of new employment opportunities, doing outreach as well as program development around access to employment; facilitating coordination of care with the division’s continuum of services; and ensuring Industry Standards and culturally responsive direct services to individuals and families in the program.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of local resources for artists, experience with the professional practices of artists, and familiarity with earning self-employment income.

 

 

The Employment Coordinator will connect Avivo participants to employment, job shadowing, job training as well as support community-based activities to improve overall health and quality of life by facilitating participation in Community Support Program employment related activities.  The Employment Coordinator will oversee the Peer Specialist Certification planning along with other innovative and community integrated job training, shadowing and training. The Employment Coordinator will meet with members to provide resources and linkage to services, while providing access to culturally specific programming.  The Coordinator will develop and maintain programming and relationships with landlords and other community partners across Hennepin County to ensure employment and job support needs are met.  Through a social justice and harm reduction lens, the Coordinator will work in communities throughout Hennepin County offering inclusive and diverse programming that meets the needs of all members.  This role will collaborate with teammates to ensure service delivery is equitable, accessible and integrated across program areas.

 

Avivo’s Chemical Mental Health Division is made up of three service Areas:  Community Chemical and Mental Health, Supportive Housing and 245G Substance Use Disorder programs which provide a continuum of integrated services, including access, clinical treatment, care coordination and recovery support.  We provide services that are innovative, person centered, strength based, and outcome driven.  We strive for the highest quality of services using a culturally responsive approach in a trauma informed environment.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and implement employment access services to CSP members.
  • Connect members to resources in the community to assist in employment stability.
  • Link members to culturally specific formal and informal community support.
  • Provide majority of direct client contact in the community, including in participant homes, at community activities and at employment related functions.
  • Actively participate in the division’s Trauma Informed Care Initiative and motivational interviewing.  Support and implement evidence based practices related to specific program area.
  • Employ a holistic approach including promoting wellness activities with participants.
  • Participate as a partner on the team; contribute to discussions, actions and projects.
  • Work within the team to assure that all benchmarks and goals are achieved.
  • Build, foster and ensure intra-divisional collaboration to maximize participant access to the organization’s programs and services.
  • Communicate with supervisor and team about potential changes likely to impact services or program operations.
  • Actively contribute to problem solving as a means to improve service delivery.
  • Seek opportunities to provide education, training and skill building across teams and service departments.
  • Promote and support involvement in the organization’s commitment to undoing racism and reducing disparities.
  • Assist as needed in other program areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field OR 5 years experience in employment services, program development, homeless services, community organizing in chemical mental health and/or public health.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a program serving adults with serious and persistent mental illness experiencing homelessness.
  • Experience with and/or commitment to working in a diverse, continuum of services in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing and delivering culturally responsive services.
  • Previous work experience in a behavioral health setting desirable.
  • Work experience in a culturally diverse environment helpful.
  • Experience with programs serving individuals with dual diagnoses preferred.

 

WAGES: Competitive, depending on qualifications.
