Position Summary

The Global Orphan Project (GO Project) IT Manager is a pivotal leadership role that oversees the development, implementation, use, and maintenance of all aspects of technology throughout the organization. Part technology guru and part emotionally intelligent leader, this role will ensure our teams engage with technology with the highest level of effectiveness and security. The ideal person for this position will lead the way in identifying and implementing the most effective tools for GO Project team members to accomplish their work successfully. They will bring a high level of listening and leadership skills. They will also be a learner, utilizing resources and outside consulting to stay up to date on security best practices and protocol. Ultimately their work will enable all parts of the organization to play their role to help break the orphan cycle.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Leading IT strategy for GO Project and its entities. Using their voice to help shape IT infrastructure and implementation is a core responsibility of this role.
  • Collaborating alongside leaders of every division to identify IT needs and solutions for their areas
  • Managing the relationship with our outside IT support company to maintain IT and security policy
  • Working with outside vendors and internal staff to support and manage the implementation of commercial software applications and subscriptions
  • Overseeing the maintenance and optimization of all IT systems, including hardware and software 
  • Proactively learning software applications to enhance current use and manage relationships with vendors to provide support and problem-solving for user issues.
  • Overseeing and negotiating pricing for software/application subscriptions and renewals
  • Managing support ticketing system to address and troubleshoot employee IT issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience in Tier 2 IT support
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Apple devices, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 products.
  • Ability to understand and manage IT budgets and plan technology in a fast-growing organization.
  • Information Technology Management experience is preferred
  • Microsoft Technology certification is preferred. (Develop and implement PowerShell automation scripts and workflows to streamline administrative tasks)
  • Personal and professional integrity with unwavering respect for co-workers and our stakeholders 
  • Passionate about empowering local churches to care for children and families in crisis
  • A personal desire to answer God’s invitation to serve the vulnerable
