Description

The Project Manager(PM) ensures project changes are executed efficiently and effectively throughout LifeCenter Northwest (LifeCenter). The PM also oversees projects and develops and maintains project management methodologies, standards, and tools. The PM will facilitate the prioritization and implementation of cross-functional projects through the use of Project Management methods and tools to deliver measurable impact on organizational goals.  This position supports the LifeCenter Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Plan by analyzing and utilizing operational and other data to guide change activities within LifeCenter, and ensures compliance with applicable standards and regulations (CMS, OPTN, AOPO, AATB and FDA).

 

General Responsibilities

  • Oversees portfolio management by developing and managing project priority matrix to ensure projects are prioritized appropriately and aligned with strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Facilitates the prioritization of of projects proposed by LifeCenter leadership.
  • Facilitates the design and implementation of cross-functional projects by evaluating the project scope, timeline and objectives to ensure projects are positioned for success.
  • Develops project charters to ensure clarity surrounding the project goals, timeline and scope.
  • Performs data analysis to support the organization, ensuring projects are aligned with strategic objectives and organizational metrics.
  • Plans, executes, monitors, and controls projects from ideation through implementation and completion to ensure projects are managed to priority, scope, charter, and timeline.
  • Chairs and facilitates the Organizational Performance Excellence Group.
  • Leads organizational research and development of standard methods and processes, developing consistent working practices, and ensuring they are deployed appropriately
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the organization regarding Project Management practices and project delivery systems.
  • Coordinates with departmental staff and leadership on strategic and cross-functional initiatives to improve outcomes, optimize use of organizational resources and maintain organizational alignment.
  • Champions the development of a Project Management culture by developing Project Management infrastructure, tools, and guidelines, acting as a resource and engaging LifeCenter staff in developing and implementing cross-functional projects
  • Provide recommendations to ensure proper investment in tools, processes, and people to govern LifeCenter’s project portfolio, document controls, and project management training.
  • Leads Change Management initiatives and facilitates the development of problem-solving initiatives and process change. Regularly reports the status of projects and related impact.
  • Assists leadership and staff in identifying and evaluating opportunities for improvement.
  • Researches, designs, and delivers appropriate Project Management training to staff and leadership.
  • Facilities use of data to prioritize projects and assess project success. Works collaboratively with Business Intelligence function on data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure project selection and goals are data-driven.
  • Participates in the Organization Performance Excellence group and assists with facilitating regular meetings, collecting, analyzing, and presenting relevant data.
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of regulations and standards, identifies necessary changes and incorporates them into SOPs, processes and training. 
  • Participates in national and industry-specific meetings/conferences, networks with process improvement professionals, shares best practices, tools, and materials. 
  • Prepares for and participates in accreditation surveys, regulatory audits, and site visits from donation partners.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no formal supervisory responsibility.

 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology of Project Management
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading cross-functional projects with favorable outcomes
  • Experience with change management and knowledge management methodologies is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including proven experience with technical writing, specifically SOPs. Must also be comfortable leading a training and speaking in front of a group of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to form and sustain strong working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Skilled at data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with and ability to interpret statistics as applied to continuous quality improvement tools is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including proven experience with technical writing.
  • Must also be comfortable leading trainings, facilitating project management tools, and speaking in front of a group of people.
  • Ability to learn and implement procedures in compliance with applicable local/state/federal regulations, certifications, accreditations, etc.
  • Multi-tasking, i.e., ability to function and complete work with competing priorities and expectations, and good problem-solving skills.
  • Personal and interpersonal skills, i.e., clear speaking, discreet, considerate, sensitive, and collaborative.  Must have the ability to function independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and good follow through.
  • Advanced knowledge of personal computers with superior skills in desktop programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, Power Point, and other comparable software programs).

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is preferred
  • Relevant work history can be substituted for academic requirements
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred, but not required
  • A minimum of two years of project management experience is required, five years of project management experience preferred
