Schedule/Hours: Seasonal Full-Time
This position is responsible for:
Prepare, plan, and operate audio/visual equipment for meetings, events, classes, seminars at the Salvation Army camps. Ensure camp activities are recorded to be used in Salvation Army publications. Captures video/pictures for Salvation Army publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates audio/visual equipment for various camp programs, including worship services and concerts. Operates and installs audio/visual equipment.
- Keeps sound room clean and organized. Reports to Program Director any problems with audio/visual equipment. Secures and locks all audio/visual equipment after each session. Videotapes camp activities daily.
- Produces a weekly review video for each camp session including all music camps. Produce a staff video and camp promotional video. Instructs camp employees in the selection, use, and design of audio/visual materials, and assist them in the preparation of instructional materials and the rehearsal of presentations
- Plans and prepares audio/visual teaching aids and methods to be used in camp classes. Performs simple maintenance tasks such as cleaning monitors and lenses and changing batteries and light bulbs. Maintains collections of audio/visual material such as films, video/audio tapes, photographs, and software programs.
- Ensures campers and staff follows safety procedures. Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Some physical requirements of the Camp Audio/Visual Specialist position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.
Additional Information:
Camp Staff Orientation will be held 06/15/2026 – 06/21/2026 and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program session will be held 06/22/2026 – 07/27/2026. If you are unable to work the entire season, please let us know on your application.
