POSITION: Housekeeping/Maintenance

SALARY: $18.54

REPORTS TO: Office Manager

LOCATION: San Poil Valley Health Center, Keller, WA

Basic Functions:

Performing a variety of housekeeping/maintenance duties including vacuuming, mopping, surface cleaning, dusting, yard work, and minor maintenance duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND STANDARDS:

  • Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products
  • Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of floors as needed
  • In charge of vacuuming equipment, vacuum and clean carpets and preform further treatments such as shampoo or stain-removal as needed
  • Dispose of trash from bins and containers
  • Dust and polish furniture and room accessories as needed
  • Scrub sinks, basins, and toilets in restrooms
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters as needed
  • Responsible for the proper use of cleaning techniques and chemical usage; cleaning duties include wood floor, linoleum, and terrazzo floor surface upkeep
  • Keep all public spaces neat and tidy
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and personal protective equipment requirements
  • Assist maintenance with inside repairs and maintenance, and grounds keeping
  • Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 to 30 pounds
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time
  • Organized and able to follow a schedule
  • Ability to follow verbal directions.
  • Organized and able to follow a schedule
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Education and Training: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience cleaning preferred; training will be provided
  • Valid WA State Driver’s License

 

 

EVALUATION:  All employees are subject to periodic and/or annual evaluation of their performance as it relates to the duties and job functions outlined in this job description.

MANDATORY CONTINUING EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

First 90 days:  General and department orientation; infection control, fire and safety education, and information technology orientation.

Annually:        Competency, OSHA, SDS, Infection Control, CPR, fire, and safety education.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment. Documented Covid-19 vaccination is required.
