You’re the go-to person for overseeing paid media planning and buying functions. You’re eager to take responsibility for media functions from industrial research and audience analysis to working with media sales representatives, to recommending strategic plans and tracking return on investment. Media Directors at Two Rivers Marketing also offer a wealth of new ideas and strategies to the account teams and help present them to clients, as well as play a key role in new business opportunities. Plus, you’ll have opportunities to mentor less-experienced associates to help them grow within the media department.


  • Serve in the role of “agency expert” on cross-channel media trends, evaluation criteria, and return-on-investment analyses.
  • Be particularly critical in areas where Two Rivers Marketing needs to guide clients, such as digital media and occasional consumer channels.
  • Monitor industry and emerging trends and bring them to the media planning and buying team, agency, and clients.
  • May be expected to participate in general strategic planning for all media-buying clients — learning and understanding their products and markets, long- and short-term priorities, and general effectiveness of various media channels.
  • Help manage media planning and buying resources for the agency, and mentor and grow our current media planning and buying team; ensure media planning and buying resources are being utilized most effectively.
  • Help develop new pricing and budgeting structures for agency media-buying clients.
  • Help investigate tools and processes for making the Two Rivers Marketing media planning and buying system as efficient as possible.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of programs and software, ensuring the entire media planning and buying team remains on the cutting edge of essential technology and skills.
  • Help pursue new media planning and buying business opportunities with existing and prospective clients in a business development capacity.
  • Be a general advocate for paid media planning and buying, and the paid media planning and buying team.
  • Assist the media planning and buying team, including serving in a media planning and buying role as needed, providing strategic, tactical, and administrative support.
  • Maintain a vision of all agency paid media planning and buying activity, with knowledge of our spending with various media channels and conglomerates; report trends to the media planning and buying team, and account service and public relations teams.
  • Ensure our media planning and buying team regularly interfaces with our PR group to ensure we are maximizing relationships and sharing knowledge of media trends, channel quality, etc.
  • 7+ years of marketing-related work experience, including managing people and teams
  • Experience in an agency environment or corporate marketing department
  • Strong communication skills combined with business acumen
  • Excellent business writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to balance financial, technical, marketing, and business issues as well as associated communications on these topics
  • Exceptional presentation and selling skills
  • Capable of bringing new ideas and pitching them both internally and externally
  • Ability to engage and maintain relationships among all levels of the internal team, client contacts, and vendors
  • Experience in various media planning and buying tools
