Description: Delaware Student Success Internship will be a 1 year program for students who are either 12th graders or recent high school graduates (1-3 years post-graduation). Interns in the program will have the opportunity to understand the current support and resources in place through the Delaware Higher Education Office for students learning about career and education beyond high school. Over the course of the year, they will help to create, design and reshape these supports and resources to best meet the needs of Delaware students. Interns will join our team in the role of student experts to share their experiences and perspectives on the value, usefulness and purpose of student communications including our Delaware Student Success website, social media platforms and written documents. Interns will work in collaboration with the Delaware Higher Education Office (DHEO) to create student focused messages in each of these communication platforms. Impact Delaware Student Success Interns will have the chance to change and redesign how Delaware students learn about education and career options after high school. Roles & Responsibilities: Join monthly DHEO communications meetings to discuss new ideas on preparing future student communications Co-facilitate Student Listening Tour sessions with Delaware Student Success Collaborative schools1 and their Collaborative Core Team o Attending and engage in Collaborative meetings, to help the team focus on student perspective o Think critically, inform change to policy and programs for student learning on career and education options throughout Delaware o Co-facilitate Listening Sessions with the Collaborative Core Team members o Participate in meetings to debrief Student Listening Tour and prepare for Collaborative meetings Showcase Presentations o Share goals, highlights, lessons learned and program impact through presentations during the year to elevate the program.

Typical Duties Serve as a member of the Delaware Student Success Student Ambassador Intern team member. Review weekly digital medias and for-print communications (e.g. Website, Social media(s) content, documents for public release, constant contact email, newsletters, etc.) Attend weekly check-ins with Program Manager to receive guidance, prepare recommendations, and effectively communicate your voice Participate in scheduled meetings with enthusiasm, professionalism, and curtesy of humankind Research, prepare, and present innovative ideas for student focused language and design for DHEOs communications QUALIFICATIONS Senior High School student or recent high school graduate (1-3 years post HS graduation) Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Microsoft applications Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple responsibilities

Ability to uphold, promote and model youth development principles Proficient oral and written communication skills and presentation skills Belief in the outcomes of future students, including the importance of student voice Familiarity with all social media platform, specifically Instagram Bonus Skills: Interest in social media marketing, media production or public relations.Create and distribute media content that supports marketing campaigns Highly motivative with a Can-Do attitude, driven by making an impact.

Location Orientation: in person option to be determined Required meetings will be virtual, internet access will be required Virtual Capabilities MS Teams & Cisco WebEx Room

Compensation Paid Internship - $15 per hour

Dates October 2021-July 2022
