The Staff Accountant will be a key member of a dynamic, fast-paced accounting team in an employee-owned company. As an employee-owner, he or she will support the Pro Food Systems mission, help our team achieve our vision statement and live according to the company’s core values. The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to work with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger to create journal entries, perform general ledger reviews, analyze financial statements, and assist with monthly financial statement preparation and closing. He or she will work directly with the Accounting Manager and support the Controller, CFO, and Sr.  Staff Accountant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform accounting activities for fixed assets, notes payable and receivable schedules, payroll interface, accruals, bank reconciliations, purchase order clearing, and other general accounting functions.
  • Maintain accounts payable and purchase card program.
  • Monitor daily cash management. 
  • Prepare multi-state sales and use tax.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget.
  • Prepare financial data as requested from senior staff.
  • Prepare for annual audit requirements.
  • Perform all assigned duties and assist all departments as needed.

  • 3 + years general accounting experience
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Business, or Finance
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the general ledger and has a working knowledge of all Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, and Bank Reconciliations
  • Broad knowledge of financial and accounting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
  • Excellent time-management with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and excellent follow through
  • Computer literate:  Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized Accounting Systems
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals.
  • Must be able to pass background check.
