SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Sales is responsible for the development, direct selling, and maintenance of group sales accounts directed by DOSM. This position also manages and is responsible for the group sales managers' performance towards achieving their annual room night & revenue goals. This position carries a room night & revenue target that is the largest in the Sales department. A very strong seller & a closer. The ADOS, as a co-leader with the Director of Sales & Marketing, is responsible for meeting the resort 40% annual group actualized budget.



  • Leads the strategy of their own industry vertical based on annual room night and revenue target. This includes identifying potential group business, negotiating room nights and rate, and closing the deal with a signed contract.
  • Completes weekly sales reports and other departmental reports.
  • Ensures that all Group Sellers have a current 30-60-90-day Sales Action Plans.
  • Helps Group Sellers to close complex leads.
  • Reviews Group turn down reports and all incoming lead sources such as Santa Cruz CVB, Star cite, Cvent to ensure that leads are followed up upon expediently and that turn downs do not occur without offering alternative dates and space.
  • Works with Event Management, other Sales Managers, and Revenue Manager to assure maximum utilization of facility.
  • Assists the DOSM in the month-end reporting, forecasting and the annual budget process, including the business/marketing plan and review for the sales department as needed or directed by DOSM
  • Works with the Group Sales team to develop property specific group promotions that will be reviewed with the DOSM and can be executed by the DOSM & Marketing Team.
  • Prospects for new customers using multiple data and information sources. The ADOS will be expected to be the role model in running customer strategies, utilizing Google search information, leveraging Seascape Beach Resort relationships to proactively target and land 40% new business for the resort.
  • Delphi/FDC experience.
  • Entertains clients on and off property, as necessary to land group business as directed by DOSM.
  • Support safe work habits and always contribute to a safe working environment.

  • Perform other related duties as requested by the DOSM or General Manager.

  • Applied Business Knowledge - Understands market dynamics, enterprise level objectives and important aspects of Horseshoe Bay Resort's business to accurately diagnose strengths and weaknesses, anticipate opportunities and risks identify issues, and develop strategies and plans. Aligning individual and team actions with strategies and plans to drive business results.
  • Customer and Personal Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting and scheduling and the reporting of financial data.





  • Five or more years' experience in hotels/resorts Sales and marketing & guest services or related professional area.
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, PR& Marketing, Hotel Restaurant Management, or related major.


  • Ability to read, comprehend and provide instructions, both written and verbal.



  • Proficient in Outlook and Internet applications.



  • Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.
  • Valid California Driver License is required (for specific positions).


The work environment at Company ranges from wintertime lows of 30 degrees to summertime highs to 80+ degrees. While performing these duties the employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions.
