Avivo is looking for an innovative, tenacious leader who is a passionate advocate for recovery and reducing disparities for the role of Service Area Director, Integrated Chemical Health. This person will lead Avivo’s 245G licensed Integrated Residential and Outpatient Treatment and Access programs.  The Integrated Chemical Health department serves more than 3,000 individuals each year with a $9 million annual budget.

The Director will be responsible for overall 245G compliance.  They will also build and maintain strong, competent and high functioning teams; develop and promote strong partnerships with funding sources, licensing authorities and key stakeholders; ensure coordination, collaboration and communication across the division and organization; ensure and monitor financial sustainability of the service area; oversee and monitor the Service Area’s quality management system;  seek out and oversee new, innovative service opportunities; and ensuring culturally responsive services to individuals/families in the service area.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the recruitment, hiring, retention and development of a diverse workforce, ensuring adherence with all applicable organization policies and procedures.
• Develop, maintain and implement effective, financial, strategic, and tactical plans for area of responsibility.
• Build, foster and ensure intra-divisional collaboration in order to maximize client access to the organization’s programs and services.
• Build and foster internal and external partnerships and collaborations that provide well-coordinated and integrated system of recovery supports needed by the populations served.
• Ensure compliance plans and procedures are followed in all department programs.
• Meet all regulatory requirements. Partner with key stakeholders and work with them to ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and funding agencies such as DHS and SAMHSA.
• Embrace and articulate to internal and external stakeholders the mission and vision of Avivo.
• Nurture a communication system that ensures all employees have relevant, timely and appropriate information to execute on organizational and operational goals.
• Develop and share expectations that guide, motivate, and hold people accountable for their work.
• Maintain an open-door policy that continually provides feedback, coaching and development on an on-going basis.
• Seek opportunities to develop new services, expand contracts and diversify funding that fits within the mission.
• Monitor and improve financial performance of the division.
• Ensure all programs operate according to contract and regulatory requirements maintaining the highest standards of ethics and accountability.
• Demonstrate and understand the importance of customer care.
• Continually monitor client satisfaction by monitoring client performance and customer feedback.
• Promote the organization’s commitment to reducing disparities through hiring, training, and development of diverse team members.

• Candidates for this key leadership position should be experienced, accomplished, and inclusive leaders with a significant background in community leadership of chemical and mental health. 
• A degree in behavioral health or related field.  Master’s or doctoral degree in business or healthcare is preferred
• 5 years demonstrated, successful experience managing both mental health and chemical health services
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with community-based programs.
• Must be licensed by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy, in the State of Minnesota, as an LADC in good standing.
• Dually-licensed professional (mental health and addictions) is desired.
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
• Experience creating and managing budgets effectively.
• Experience with and/or commitment to working in a diverse, continuum of services in a fast-paced, growing organization.
• Experience with and/or a demonstrated commitment to developing and delivering culturally responsive services.
