Position Summary

Build and support primary web site services and content for ACSI by providing website asset management, content management, and hosting of cloud-based software services.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal intranet and external websites
  • Provide web site metrics to key staff and project managers
  • Ensure user accessibility to the sites
  • Monitor site traffic and help ensure cloud-based server efficiency
  • Improve the look and feel of the websites and ensure a responsive access design
  • Ensure compliance requirements are being met, including ADA, Section 508, and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Gather feedback from users, design and technical staff on site development needs
  • Build user interface applications and back-end databases using various programming and scripting languages
  • Author complex site pages
  • Assist in project planning and site design
  • Collaborate with executive staff in planning, designing, and implementing goals and objectives through the web
  • Create prototypes and functional specifications for software projects
  • Create technical methodologies for engineering solutions to web-based development problems
  • Meet with project manager, Director of Information Technology, and appropriate staff on specifics of projects, new technologies, and deadlines
  • Determine new technologies to utilize, based on ACSI’s needs, such as browsers, languages, and plug-ins
  • Conceptualize long-term development needs; plan and manage related projects
  • Provide technical standards for ACSI web sites
  • Train and support department content managers
  • Support of a variety of applications, including broadcast email, certification, legal legislative, and product management programs
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Experience and Education

  • Five to ten or more years of experience in managing all aspects of a website from server hosting to page development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology field
  • Experience with popular web scripting technologies such as HTML, CSS, XML, API development, SQL, and JavaScript
  • Experience with DNS management
  • Adobe Creative Suite, ASP.NET, PHP, integration scripting, and cloud-based or virtual hosting experience preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of technical issues related to website deployments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; communicate clearly and effectively

 Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% by plane or automobile
  • Driver’s License required to be kept current and in effect as a condition of employment
  • Employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, talk and hear
  • Essential duties require the use of computers to process information
  • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read at close range and distinguish colors and contrasts
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal
