Looking to manage the operations of rehabilitation and support program

  • Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Successfully manage the operations around Envision Dallas’ vision rehabilitation, support programs and special projects involving adults and children who are blind, visually impaired or have low vision, in support of Envision Dallas’ mission.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

  • Manage the providers of essential services that are provided through Envision Dallas VR Clinic, whether that provider is an employee or contractor including:
    • Assessments
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Orientation and Mobility training
    • Assistive Technology training
    • Independent Living Skill training
    • Vocational Rehabilitation
    • Older Individuals who are Blind services
  • Interact with clients and referring agencies as needed to assess their needs and ensure Envision provides them with services necessary to fulfill physician/optometrists plan of care or a referral by TWC.
  • Ensure that billing information for clients is obtained and used as required in standard operating procedures in support of our mission.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, commercial insurance, Medicaid, TWC, HIPAA Privacy Practices and accreditation standards.
  • Manage the running of the retail store, Envision Every Day, at
    Envision Dallas.
  • Manage the recruitment, training and coordination of volunteers or volunteer groups to ensure coverage of programming and events.
  • Oversee a successful and inspirational art program and other outreach initiatives for blind or visually impaired individuals, leveraging volunteers to provide instructional support and classroom assistance as needed.
  • Support other programs for children and adults with vision impairment as needed.
  • Oversee efforts for recruitment, development, and performance evaluation of employees.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, in a field such as Business, Social Work, VR or Public Administration or other related fields.

 

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant leadership experience in a clinic, hospital, or behavioral health setting.

 

Knowledge/Skills:

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to:
    • Work independently, conceptualizing and executing projects
    • Interact effectively with employees at all levels as well as the general public.
    • Work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
    • Ability to implement and achieve performance goals.
    • Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
    • Handle sensitive or confidential communications in a professional manner.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with clients, government agencies, volunteers, and the public with diplomacy and customer-service orientation.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
