JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                     

The School of Business at Spalding University is seeking a candidate academically qualified to teach management and potentially select finance courses for an assistant professor position to begin as early as January 2022. Successful candidates are passionate about teaching and supporting students, willing to contribute their interests and ideas for new and innovative courses and programs, eager to externally represent the school and its programs in the community, and have the interest and ability to engage in scholarly activities.



  • Teaching undergraduate and possibly graduate courses with credentials to teach in areas such as management and finance. Teaching responsibilities can be a combination of face-to-face and online courses.
  • Advising undergraduate students.
  • Active engagement in professional development activities.
  • Active engagement in School of Business recruiting and retention initiatives – both in the external community and internal community.
  • Serving on School and University committees.
  • Participating in faculty meetings, creative/scholarly activity, graduation ceremonies, and service appropriate to the university faculty member.

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS                                             

Ph.D., D.B.A. or Ed.D. in a business field is required with the appropriate graduate hours to meet SACSCOC guidelines for teaching in the assigned discipline.

Previous teaching experience at the university level – preferably at both the undergraduate and graduate level.



  • Daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Regular contact with the general public.
  • Must have an appreciation and respect for diverse populations.
