JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Communications and Digital Marketing Manager is a key member of the New Roads Schools Communications team. The Communications and Digital Marketing Manager develops a broad range of communications and marketing materials and projects in a non-profit or educational setting. Using skills in content management (in both print and online media), the Communications and Digital Marketing Manager supports the design and production of New Roads communications and online presence. The Digital Marketing Manager manages digital analytics to drive content through multiple platforms, creates content and communications initiatives, manages and implements the social media and website content for the school K-12 and provides a wide range of project support to the Communications and Marketing Department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

CONTENT CREATION and COMMUNICATIONS

  • In collaboration with the Director of Communications, ensure that message and branding remains consistent and in line with the school's Mission and Philosophy across all departments and programs 

  • Collaborate with various school departments on communication projects for the advancement of the school 

  • Develop, coordinate,  proofread, copy, edit, format, and distribute all content for newsletters, announcements, emails (push pages), press releases, e-blasts, and group communications as assigned

  • Manage correspondence and execute communication requests from school community (students, faculty, staff, families) 

  • Collaborate with various departments to provide photography, video recording, photo editing, photo archiving, video editing, and graphic design

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY and DIGITAL ANALYTICS

  • Oversee all content in day-to-day communication, web and social media content planning, authoring, coordination, reviews, edits and launch of digital campaigns, initiatives, and programs.

  • Work with outside vendors, organizations, and PR representatives on collaborative social media campaigns to multiply brand awareness

  • Execute marketing plans to promote brand awareness and increase engagement across multiple platforms       

  • Execute engaging content for social media while coordinating social media posts for the school’s community contributors (i.e. Athletics, Alumni, etc.)

  • Actively monitor the school’s presence, alerts, and public perception online and across multiple platforms; update online profiles as needed

  • Develop framework for analyzing social media, website, and email statistics and provide regular reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing

  • Provide data-driven strategies to elevate New Roads brand within the digital sphere, which includes social media, as well as website design, navigation, user experience, etc.

  • Monitor email bounce rates and unsubscriptions, and work with Database Administrators to ensure data integrity across all platforms

  •  Track and measure the key performance indicators (KPI’s)

  • Analyze user behavior data and make content improvements based on metrics

WEBSITE CONTENT MANAGEMENT & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Actively evaluate New Roads website to ensure content accuracy and compliance

  • Update all public pages of the website, including ongoing review of content and layout, refresh the website for each new academic year

  • Research strategies to improve website design improvements, taking into account the user experience (Website management)

  • Create resource boards and “group” pages on New Roads’ internal site, MyRoads (website)

  • Assist is any website improvements, integrations or implementation projects

  • Manage web-related technical support needs and other related systems (Blackbaud, Raiser’s Edge, Mailchimp, Squarespace), including coordination of database integration in partnership with the school’s IT Department

  • Work collaboratively with IT Department to resolve data issues that arise with data integrity, exports between systems, integrations, and other related areas as they affect online directories and distribution of emails to constituents

  • Other additional assignments, administrative duties, and projects as needed 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 4+ years’ experience in marketing, communications, social media, or community engagement in a professional capacity required; experience in Educational setting preferred

  • Direct experience managing digital media and social campaigns

  • Superior ability to analyze data in Google Analytics, Facebook or other analytics platforms

  • Demonstrated excellence and consistency in verbal and written communication; solid knowledge of grammar required

  • Graphic design skills, including strong knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator

  • Video editing experience a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Blackbaud school management software experience a plus

  • Experience with HTML and CSS a plus

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly

  • Strong interpersonal skills—empathy, flexibility, and a sense of humor / relationship management, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively with all constituencies within the school’s internal and external communities (faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni)

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects from inception through execution
