American Aluminum Extrusion, Roscoe’s local manufacturer, is growing! Contribute your manufacturing or production skills to our industry-leading extrusion team. In face of new projects and equipment additions, we are searching for Material Handlers to join our 1st Shift.

AAE has an immediate opening for a Material Handler on 1st Shift. This full-time hourly position runs from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm for our 1st shift schedule.

Job Duties:

  • Transport raw materials around the facility as needed.
  • Maintain raw materials levels at press and in each department.
  • Assist in loading and unloading raw materials on trucks.
  • Complete documentation as required.
  • Follow all safety requirements including forklift inspections and documentation.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.
  • Cross-train, learn and support other functions or processes as required.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain crane and forklift certifications within AAE.
  • Ability to complete accurate documentation and work on computers.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, working safely. Flexible to work overtime or change shifts as required.

Required Skills:

  • Transport raw materials around the facility as needed utilizing sit-down forklifts, side-loaders, and overhead cranes
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with sit-down forklifts
  • Maintain raw materials levels at press and in each department.
  • Assist in loading and unloading raw materials on trucks
  • Complete documentation as required
  • Follow all safety requirements including forklift inspections and documentation
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
  • Cross-train, learn and support other functions or processes as required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to lift and move parts/equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing to train entry-level candidates providing they demonstrate a willingness to work and ability to learn new skills and grow with the company.
