The Gifts-In-Kind Manager oversees the Mission’s GIK efforts including oversight and operations of the Mission’s 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse. Key responsibilities include oversight and planning of internal marketing to GIK users, ensuring an easy-to-use ordering system, timely delivery/fulfillment, leading the Warehouse staff, inventory management, operations safety, donation pick up/deliveries, managing volunteers, leading GIK “events” for Mission staff (such as the Day of Caring, special food giveaways, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, spiritual, and administrative leadership to all direct reports including training, development, performance evaluations, hiring, scheduling, goal setting/evaluation and disciplinary actions.
• Supervise the Warehouse Manager, GIK Specialist, and Operation Supervisor.
• Work closely with the Warehouse Manager on how to best utilize GIK inventory.
• Work closely with GIK Specialists on all incoming volunteers at GIK.
• Work closely with the Operation Supervisor to schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Connect the inventory of GIK with the needs of the various ministers at the Seattle Union Gospel Mission.
• Work closely with the Senior Director of Shared Services to establish and implement goals for GIK.
• Have a strong working relationship with SUGM departments to help provide GIK support and resources.
• Establish and maintain relationships with outside agencies, non-profits, and churches to determine needs and offer support in local communities.
• Update Mission wish lists on the UGM website, Dollar Days, and on Amazon as needed.
• Update and maintain the GIK catalog.
• Regularly inform Mission needs to the Procurement Officer and GIK Specialist for drives, events and donations.
• Attend and participate in all Mission, Division, and Department meetings and trainings, as required.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Shared ServicesProficient in Microsoft Office suite

 Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Associate Degree in a related field is preferred
• 5+ years of experience managing a warehouse/distribution operation
• 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team
• Experience working with an inventory tracking system
• Experience with sourcing and fulfilling in a warehouse setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or move around for long periods.  Regularly required to lift, sit, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms.  Frequently works in fluctuating temperatures. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and walk, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the company.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
