POSITION SUMMARY:  

Responsible for verifying, compiling, completing, and documenting application information related to mortgage loans.  Responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient collection of customer information needed for the documentation, underwriting, and collateral perfection on home loans.  Responsible for managing customer loan files from the post application stage process through sale into the secondary market.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for duties related to loan processing and closing. Includes identifying aspects of the transaction that may require additional special attention, arranging for funding, and ensuring files are fully documented for underwriting and delivery.

  • Maintain contact with borrower and their representatives as required. Order 3rd party reports and validate information as required by process.

  • Responsible for setting up loan files and documentation, closing, and funding. Analyze entity structures and other 3rd party reports related to loan documentation.

  • Perform and process draw requests and take action on items affective the disbursement process such as change orders, sufficiency of funds, liens, holdbacks, etc.

  • Partner with loan officers as the primary liaison between borrowers, their representatives, attorneys, title companies, insurance representatives, and other parties tied to the home lending transaction.

  • Responsible for ensuring all terms of the loan are incorporated in the documents, closing conditions are met, and loans are closed within appropriate timeframes and within company required standards.

  • Analyze title insurance commitment reports including title exceptions and prepare title/escrow instructions.

  • Responsible for performing file setup and coordinating the activities of legal counsel and title and escrow personnel. Carry administrative policy and conditions of approval.

  • Perform internal mortgage loan origination system functions for funding and preparing data input boarding sheets related to loan set up.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related areas preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of mortgage banking experience in lending, closing, title, escrow, or related fields.Condo-related processing experiences a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of loan processing, escrow, and closing procedures.
  • Knowledge of real estate lending and documentation.Knowledge of title and survey matters, including the ability to evaluate exceptions to title.
  • Up to date knowledge of mortgage banking procedures including an in depth understanding of loan processing and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work closely and efficiently with lending personnel.
  • Strong customer service skills required for internal and external customer communications.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, spreadsheets, and database lending software.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other Database software.
