 FLSA STATUS:              Exempt

 EFFECTIVE DATE:        October 2025

 

Preferred Hiring Range: $72,136.00 to $84,865

Full Range: $72,136.00 to $97,595.00

Note: The full pay range is included in this posting to provide transparency and to reflect the potential for future compensation growth within the organization.  New hires are placed within the preferred hiring range, based on their qualifications, experience, and alignment with the internal equity of existing staff members.  Exceptions are considered only in rare cases where a candidate possesses highly specialized skills or expertise that are difficult to find in the market and are directly aligned with the position description.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Development A/P-Contracts Specialist reports to the Development Accounting Manager.  This position manages contracts in Yardi and works closely with the Housing Development Project Managers and Development Accountants to ensure all contracts are entered and closed out and works on AP related company initiatives.  Responsible for overseeing AP functions and 1-2 Accounts Payable (AP) Specialists.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads Contract set-up process in Yardi
  • Manage contracts and coordinate closing contracts with development accountants and project managers
  • Process contracts change orders in Yardi
  • Manage accounts payable for predevelopment and construction projects
  • Manage AP Specialists
  • Manages weekly check runs and disbursement of draws
  • Releases electronic payments with various banks
  • Approves AP batches
  • Back up to AP Specialists
  • Assists with year-end audits/compilations, cost certifications as needed
  • Assists with improving AP process
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

  • Processing AP
  • Development and job cost practices
  • Contract management within an ERP system. Yardi, a plus
  • Experience with major accounting systems

 

Skill Level:

  • Proficient in processing AP
  • Experience with preparing check runs and electronic bank transactions
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Yardi Voyager knowledge
  • Affordable Housing experience a plus
  • Effective communication skills

 

Ability to:

  • Work independently

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A combination of education and related experience may substitute for education requirements.

  • Bachelor's or associate’s degree in finance or accounting preferred, or prior work experience in related field
  • At least 4 years’ experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist in fast paced work environment, related position.
  • At least 2 years' experience supervising AP Specialists
