The Windward School is currently seeking a part time CSE Liaison for our Manhattan campus, 4 days (30 hours) per week to assist with all logistics related to the IEP process.

This 10 month position will work in conjunction with the CSE/PPT Department to ensure that the vision and execution of the process is aligned with The Windward Schools mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with CSE Liaisons at the Windward Westchester campuses, 4 days (30 hours) per week.
  • Preparation for and participation in students CSE meetings with a focus on the Manhattan campus.
  • Assisting parents with all concerns regarding the IEP process
  • Preparation of information needed for due process proceedings (i.e. affidavits as written testimony)
  • Communicate regularly with the other members of the CSE/PPT Department to best support Windward families in navigating IEP related matters

Specific Requirements

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Special Education
  • Five years of experience in Special Education, preferably in a lower (elementary) or middle school setting is recommended.
  • Documented experience and participation in the IEP process.
  • Specific experience in the interpretation and implementation of federal and state legislation and guidelines governing education and the IEP process.
  • Knowledge of current trends and research in Special Education
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
