Description

To assist Senior Sign Shop Tech and perform a variety of task with in the sign shop and equipment graphics dept. To assist in sign making in compliance with MUTCD guidelines; decal of various Traffic Management, Inc. equipment.

Essential Duties

  • Provide customers with detailed lay outs for both custom and MUTCD compliant signs
  • Use sign shop equipment to design and create signs as instructed
  • Interact with estimating department for specific jobsite signs required by accepted plans.
  • Maintain all equipment in a safe and working condition
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule per sign shop production on Google calendar
  • Must be on call for emergencies
  • Assist with design of graphics
  • Create decals
  • Print signs
  • Cut of signs and decals
  • Order supplies/materials and submit purchase orders
  • Ship of signs and other decals
  • Create and apply decals to vehicles
  • Check and document the inventory on a monthly basis
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Basic MUTCD sign compliance
  • Flexi-sign application knowledge
  • Basic construction skills (drills, skill saw, basic tools)
  • Knowledge of basic sign coding and sizes
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Weeding of vinyl
  • Basic customer service

Equipment Operated

  • Vehicles (Trucks/Cars) of various sizes
  • Flat bed trucks
  • Trailer mounted warning signs
  • Cones, delineators, drums, barricades, signs and various other traffic control devices
  • Trailer
  • HP Design Jet Printer
  • Graphtech Cutter SP800-160
  • Compression Roller
  • Laminator
  • Substrate cutter
  • Aluminum shearer
Qualifications

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Requires standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Requires lifting up 50lb
  • Requires using hands to handle, control or lift objects
  • Requires being outside and exposed to environmental conditions
  • Requires being in construction environment
  • Requires repetitive movement
  • Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and moving vehicular traffic
  • Exposure to reasonable noise levels
  • Exposure to chemicals- Paint thinners/ Paint removers

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 1 year of related experience
