Description

LifeCenter Northwest is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant. The primary responsibility of this role is the timely and accurate closing of monthly financial records. Including: preparing and reviewing journal entries, accounts payable batches, accounts receivable invoices, expense reports, deposits, reconciliations, financial statement review and analysis and promoting process improvement initiatives. Experience reviewing others work is required.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries.
  • Review and post entry batches.
  • Monthly financial statement review, including the preparation and review of support schedules.
  • Review Concur expense reports monthly.
  • Prepare at hoc analytical reports as assigned.
  • Support Accounting Manager and Vice President, Finance and Administration (VPFA) with the annual preparation of Form 990 and Form 5500.
  • Support Accounting Manager and VPFA with building the annual budget, preparation of CMS cost report, and preparation for external audits.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable Vendor Log.
  • Provide primary support for team members in absences.
  • Along with Accounting Manager, maintain process documents and assist staff in implementing process improvements.

 

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Act as backup for bi-weekly payroll process, including the creation of payroll journal entries and maintenance of payroll records.
  • Reconcile payroll and benefit expense and liability balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in monthly analysis of payroll and related costs against budget.
  • Create ad hoc payroll reporting as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university. CPA preferred.
  • Three to five years accounting and/or finance work experience required. Experienced as a Senior Accountant.
  • Experience reviewing the work of staff accountants required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare accounting a plus.
  • Must possess initiative and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to perform analysis and create deliverables from general direction.
  • The ability to produce accurate and timely work is essential.
  • The ability to analyze financial data and present the results in a clear and concise format is required.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel required.
  • Experience with a computerized accounting system preferred. Experience with Sage software for nonprofit accounting is a plus
