POSITION SUMMARY

The Educator will work in the District of Columbia and Prince George's County school systems, teaching relationship skills to high school students using an evidence-based curriculum that includes game, videos and interactive activities through the Sexual Risk Avoidance Evidence Based Program (SRA EBP), which seeks to empower students to make healthy decisions about dating and romantic relationships, while providing tools and resources to prevent pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections and youth engagement in other risky behaviors.   

The Educator will collaborate with the Program Director in conducting and monitoring the Love Notes – SRA EBP for diverse students ages 14 – 19.  The Educator will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program to guide and encourage students. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct classroom-based instruction based on the Love Notes - SRA EBP,
  • Work with external partners collecting performance measures to ensure the program is implemented with fidelity and high quality and is relevant to the populations served,
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with project team, clients and partners,
  • Provide a safe, thriving and respectful environment for all youths,
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Field of Study:  Education, Youth Development, Social Behavior Science or related field,
  • Two (2) plus years’ experience in teaching, training or facilitation and/or working with youth,
  • Knowledge of the Love Notes – SRA EBP curriculum a plus.

 

SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Access, Excel, Word, and Power Point),
  • Video Conferencing,
  • Highly organized with the ability to support multiple requirements and requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills,
  • Experience working with youth, preferably, in a classroom setting,
  • Vehicle or reliable transportation, preferred,
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening,
  • Must pass child protective clearances for the District of Columbia and Maryland,
  • Must pass physical and TB Test.
