The Director of Behavioral Health Services is responsible for overseeing the study and treatment of Mission program guests with varying degrees of emotional, mental or behavioral needs. In addition, this position will be responsible for ensuring the Behavioral Health department operations are in compliance with clinical guidelines and meet all federal and state requirements. This position will create functional strategies, develop and manage budgets and create structure, policies and procedures that inspire growth for guests, team members and the Mission as a whole.

Responsibilities

• Develop overall function of Mental Health Services for guests in all programs
• Ensure grace-based philosophy and trauma informed care is used in all mental health related programs
• Develop, plan and implement strategies for managing program growth. Regularly review and recommend changes in program services to meet guests needs; oversight of program evaluation and quality assurance functions for department including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring treatment plans for guests.
• Supervise and oversee all aspects of the mental health program by setting departmental goals and objectives in alignment with the Missions vision and policies in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner.
• Maintain compliance with Washington State Licensing for Professional Ethics and Continuing Education
• Ensure all Behavioral Health Staff are adhereing to all professional and ethical requirements according to Washington State Licensure and/or Federal guidelines.
• Regularly provide clinical training to clinical services staff and interns.
• Hiring, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, promotion, corrective action of paid and volunteer personnel (interns) within the department.
• Represent the Mission in the community, corporate, and donor environments.
• Identify key partners in King County and develop relationship for referrals
• Develop partnerships with Mental Health providers and create Memorandum of Understanding for each partnership
• Create measurements for success and data points for evaluation and analysis of program
• Develop and implement guest medication policy
• Support the Mission staff through second-hand trauma/compassion fatigue through trainings, resources, and/or brief 1x1 meetings if requested by staff members. This is not a counseling session but a debrief of second-hand trauma/compassion fatigue.
• Manage and oversee departmental budget
• Travel to Mission program sites for collaboration with Program Managers, including Outreach

Qualifications & Experience

• Masters Degree in a health related area discipline such as Behavioral Health Science (psychology, social work, clinical mental health counselor, etc.)
• Must have any one of the following licensures: LMHC, LMHP, LMFT, LICSW
• Must have experience with populations with Substance Use Disorder, Dual-Diagnosis, and recovery
• CEUs for Clinical Supervision or be willing to obtain and maintain CEUs within reasonable time frame as agreed upon by Director, Behavioral Health and Vice President of Program Services
• Eight plus years progressive responsibility of experience in Clinical and Administrative Management, preferably non-profit settings
• Proficient to advanced computer skills with prior experience working with software like Microsoft Office Suite Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment.  Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms.  Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds and walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the company.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
