About the Role
WHYY is keenly focused on strengthening and expanding our digital product portfolio to grow audience on proven and emerging digital platforms.
WHYY’s digital team leads the development of interactive and online products across web sites, apps, and strategic third-party platforms. We manage the services that meet our audience wherever they are -- be that on-the-go or in the living room -- and we shape the digital platform experience for our audience, from casual consumers to members.

The full stack developer produces scalable software solutions as part of this cross-functional team and is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.
The full stack developer helps inform and execute digital strategy across front- and back-end CMS, CRM, email, digital marketing and analytics platforms and systems including websites, apps, third party platforms, and rich media technologies (e.g., streaming and on-demand audio/video players and systems).
As a full stack developer, you should be comfortable around both front- and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. Ideally you're also an application performance fanatic and familiar with Agile methodologies and toolsets.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain, increase performance of, and build both internal and external facing sites, products, and platforms.

Ensure digital product and platform stability and uptime and respond to downtime incidents.

Develop, test, and deploy production-ready, standards compliant and error-free code.

Establish and manage systems, documentation, standards, and guidelines.

Plan, conduct, and document browser and platform performance testing.

Coordinate work with outside contractors and internal stakeholders across departments, and work with vendors, internal digital and IT staffs to integrate systems and technologies.

Research emerging tools, trends, and methodologies; maintain knowledge of industry and monitor competitive digital platforms.

Help manage day-to-day digital operations.
