Description

The ideal CNC Programmer will be someone who can support our aggressive business growth plans, is a strong team player, shares information, and can help take our business to the next level. As a key player in developing our machine shops overall capability, allowing us to take on additional business to support our growth, the required duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, 2D prints, and 3D models etc.) and create CNC programs, tools, and other necessary processes to produce a high quality product
  • Write programs based on customer prints, models, etc. First-time build programming on CAD/CAM using MASTERCAM X9 & 17
  • Drive business metrics (safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost = QCD, EHS)
  • Team with operations, quality, and materials to exceed customer expectation
  • Using solid model CAD files to create CNC tool paths and programs for CNC mills
  • Candidates must be able to fill the CAM gap between Process Engineering and machine production
  • Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible to available machines
  • Design special tooling or fixtures required to attain desired results
  • Analyze and resolve fabrication and tooling issues to avoid problems
  • Value engineering existing products and process to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times
  • The ability to troubleshoot and edit existing NC programs, sequences and procedures
  • Troubleshoot/debug jobs in progress on machine (tool life, tolerance finish, program discrepancies)
  • Analyzes runs in order to make recommendations for cycle-time improvement, etc

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Auto Desk Inventor & Master CAM preferred
  • Experience with Haas and Hurco CNC
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to read G-Code programs and edit
  • Minimum of 5 years Mastercam and weldment experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak English, add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs
