Description

The ideal Continuous Improvement Manager will be an inspirational hands-on servant leader with proven results in CI, loves to work through others, has a good grasp of manufacturing processes, and that performs all duties required, including, but are not limited to:

  • Foster the adoption of continuous improvement as a way life, creating a culture of change

  • Assist in defining and supporting standardized programs to educate employees in the principles of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen anther lean tools)

  • Builds Value stream metrics creating a CI Dashboard

  • Build strong and positive working relationships with all functional areas

  • Lead the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of continuous improvement actions across the extended value streams to eliminate waste and achieve targets

  • Responsible for coaching the site Production leads team in achieving the work center KPIs aligned with the work center performance and CI goals

  • Leads fast response to the floor, creates focus groups and lead the generations of improvement projects in the different value streams. Lead the culture change in the floor to attack systematically floor issues through improvement projects, standardization, quick trouble shooting

  • Support the development and utilization of current and future state value stream maps to identify strategic projects and corresponding rolling 12-month implementation plans aligned with the company s strategic direction

  • Implements RoMaNs CI strategy delivering periodic assessments of advancements to plan.

  • Responsible for developing and deploying the Site(s) daily accountability process and employing problem solving methodologies to determine root cause and develop countermeasures for misses to daily targets, identifying and ensuring resolution of system issues and ensuring the successful accomplishment of extended value stream customer expectations

  • Ensure consistent application of CI methodology and standard work in alignment with CI peers from other locations

  • Leadership by example, supporting activities as needed or assigned by manager

  • Have regular and reliable attendance as well as punctuality

Qualifications

  • BS Engineering degree
  • 5 years or more in experience in leading continuous improvement activities at a site level
  • Experience using problem solving methodology
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is not required but desirable
  • Experience leading plant lean transformation
  • Demonstrated change agent
  • Ability to lead associates through coaching and mentoring
  • Highly energized and self-motivated with experience working with teams to implement change
  • Strong planning/organization & time management skills
  • Record of successful project management
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, utilize process, and value stream mapping, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to lead effectively and efficiently cross functionally. No reports, so he or she should be able to lead collaboratively
  • Credibility and experience to work effectively and directly with the on-site Management team and beyond
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically (i.e., deliver results)
  • Analytically minded and data driven. The candidate must also have a holistic overview of complex situations and deal effectively with difficult issues when they arise
