Bennett Thrasher is seeking a Desktop Support Analyst. The analysts will be a support resource for enterprise device maintenance and issue resolution. This role troubleshoots end-user device and software errors and will collaborate with both internal and external parties in resolution practices. Our IT department supports a wide range of solutions including, but not limited to: virtual servers, document management systems, O365, SQL, consumer mobile devices, VPN and VOIP.


  • Act as first tier support point in an enterprise environment.
  • Support mobile workforce, such as troubleshooting VPN issues and firm approved devices.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance of all office PC systems, software, configuration, updates and patching to keep equipment in compliance with firm standards.
  • Troubleshoot software issues, which may require working with our software vendor’s support team.
  • Utilize our imaging and software library to deploy systems as well as reimage and migrate data as needed.
  • Prepare computers for new hires in advance and provide the necessary technology training.
  • Assist with network software and hardware upgrades when needed. This could range from basic Windows updates to more advanced software/hardware upgrades.
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware (experience with Dell desktops/laptops is a plus)
  • General knowledge of Active Directory.

Position Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree(s) in an IT related field or combination of education, technical experience and certifications
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Windows and Microsoft Office in a technical service desk environment
  • Skilled at working with all levels and technical aptitudes of customers; grasps technical concepts quickly and communicates them to non-technical staff in a professional, clear and friendly manner.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot computer issues over the phone.
  • General understanding of Active Directory and Windows Servers is a plus.
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.
  • Flexibility will be required to adapt quickly to change within the Firm and within the accounting industry
  • Must be able to participate in rotating on call schedule and work extended hours during tax season or when required to complete projects
