We’re looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our youth residential campus in Flourtown, PA as a Milieu Therapist.
The Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) at Carson Valley Children’s Aid provides safe, structured care for adolescents with a history of trauma and behavioral problems. We help youth to develop skills that will allow for positive reintegration into their families and communities.
As a Milieu Therapist, you will facilitate psychoeducational skill groups, implementing a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) curriculum. You will help youth to practice regulating their emotions, controlling self-destructive behaviors, and improving interpersonal relationships. You will also coach direct care staff to ensure effective support for residents.
Vaccination Requirements: All staff members at our residential campus are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses Moderna/Pfizer or 1 dose J&J).

Work Schedule: 40 hours weekly. 5 workdays per week from approx. 1 P.M. to 9 P.M. This position requires 1-2 weekends per month. Milieu Therapists collaborate at the beginning of each month to schedule weekend coverage.
Work Setting: Primary work location is our Flourtown campus. Occasional accompaniment of youth to program activities outside of the milieu.
Essential Job Functions:
- Facilitate therapeutic groups within the residential milieu.
- Provides direct clinical support to campus residents.
- Coach direct care staff to ensure the effective implementation of treatment plans.
- Participate in weekly Clinical Team meetings and Direct Care Team meetings.
- Provide consultation regarding clients' mental health needs and progress to other treatment team members.
- Complete required documentation in a timely fashion, including but not limited to group progress notes and treatment progress summaries.
- Provide emergency evaluation and intervention when critical situations arise.
- Participate in regular supervision, treatment reviews, trainings, etc.
