Job Title:  Cryo Assistant Shift Supervisor

Reports to:  Cryo Manager

 

Job Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Package (excel, word) and Bar Tender Label Software.
  3. Must be able to work independently and lead operational teams.
  4. Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal form with co-workers, lead supervisor and management.
  5. Follow written (Standard Operating Procedures -SOP’s, company memos & emails) and verbal instructions.
  6. Familiarity with industrial processing equipment and SOP led facilities.
  7. Posses a strong work ethic to positively contribute to the company’s mission, vision and environmental and quality policies.
  8. Must have a positive attitude, support team to obtain desired objectives, and assist others in their contributions.
  9. Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time and access stairs and ladders.
  10. Ability to bend, stoop, squat occasionally to frequently.
  11. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (in required areas) for extended periods of time.
  12. Be able to lift and or carry (up to 50 lbs) occasionally to frequently within normal limits.
  13. Handle hazardous chemicals safely according to their MSDS’s and SOP’s.
  14. Must be able to learn ERP system(s) to perform data entry and print reports.
  15. Shift work, required.

 

Job Summary:

This position, under the direction of the Cryo Manager, is responsible for assisting the Shift Supervisor in daily duties and ensuring processing equipment is properly functioning and maintained.

 

Job Duties:

  1. Operate process equipment while following SOPs.
  2. Responsible for overseeing Cryo Plant Operator job duties and responsibilities.
  3. Know all of and be able to perform all of the duties of the Laborer and Operator positions
  4. Responsible for entire shift, which includes personnel, PM of equipment, operation of equipment, production throughput, and all aspects of production quality.
  5. Schedule breaks/lunches and all processing functions with personnel available, while maintaining production throughput and all aspects of production quality.
  6. Compile all documentation for production folder prior to hand off to Production Operations Support.
  7. Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  8. Problem-solve and make decisions that will positively impact the manufacturing of products.
  9. Monitor production to meet delivery and quality requirements.
  10. Troubleshoot process upsets, equipment malfunction and yield variances.
  11. Complete required paperwork timely and accurately.
  12. Train shift members in job duties and responsibilities.
  13. Assist with housekeeping duties.
  14. Oversee Packaging and Maintenance Teams as needed.  Responsible for assuring the at all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance occurs and that the respective documentation is completed as outlined in the Maintenance Log.
  15. Must be able to operate a forklift.
  16. Lead and promote a safe and sanitary work environment within the facility. Collaborate with the Cryo Manager to develop and Maintain SOPs for the Cryo Plant.
  17. Continuously look for ways to improve process efficiency
  18. Maintain current knowledge of Cryo Plant Process.
  19. Review employee workflow.  If SOPs are not being followed, recommendations to be made to Manager on workflow efficiencies.
  20. Work in conjunction with Lean principles in the Cryo Plant.
  21. Assure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  22. Notify management upon identifying ways to improve facility efficiency.
  23. Maintain sanitary and safe work environment.
  24. Follow safety requirements.
  25. May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee.
  26. Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  27. Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.
  28. Must adhere to all company policies.
  29. Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  30. Follow all SOPs in a given area.
  31. Performs all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or his designee.
