Position Summary

The Shop Foreman defines, plans, implements, and monitors production strategies, policies, that focuses on customer service and profitability for the Bloomingdale facility.

Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:


  • Plans and schedules the production work to meet customer deliverables
  • Proactively coordinates with Engineering to obtain drawings for final work product and interpret data for welders
  • Teams with Quality Assurance to ensure quality standards are met prior to packing and shipping product to customers
  • Coordinates with Customer Service and Quality Assurance during production and proactively addresses any issue
  • Ensure assembly and production meets customer specifications and deliverables
  • Responds to customer inquiries with respect to production in conjunction with Customer Service


  • Responsible to receive shipments of components and parts with a focus on accuracy and PO Plan
  • Pack and ship product to customers with a focus on meeting schedules and deadlines
  • Proactively creates contingency plans to ensure delivery deadlines are satisfied
  • Develops strong relationship with shipment vendors to ensure the success of deliverables
  • Teams with Supply Chain for planning, forecasting, inventory - cycle counts, etc. (Domestic and International)

Facility maintenance 

  • Proactively manages the building(s) and grounds with a focus on preventative maintenance
  • Be responsive and resourceful with respect to the needs across the properties
  • Proactively manage projects with a comprehensive focus on safety

Manage the Department

  • Manages department staff with respect to strategic and proactive hiring, performance management, disciplinary action, and termination of employment. Identify and provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance employee professional development and add value to the company.
  • Proactively address employee issues with respect to the CBA and coordinate with Human Resources including grievances, workplace injuries etc
  • Provides a cohesive customer service-focused environment to contributor to the overall success of the company.

  • Creative problem-solving skills combined with sound judgment
  • Excellent Leadership Skills - Proactive Leader/Coaching Ability/Hands-On 
  • BS in any Engineering field is a plus
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment - Lean Manufacturing or similar
  • 5-10 years experience in managing different disciplines in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 years experience managing an office and production facility
  • 10% travel required to various VMC locations and vendors nationally
  • Union exposure a plus not required
  • Bilingual - Spanish a plus not required
