Hand Family Companies is seeking a talented and self-motivated employee for an entry level position in our HR & Payroll Department. This employee will work with the admin contacts and managers at various locations to complete a wide variety of tasks relating to Human Resources and Payroll including, but not limited to the following:

  • Executing the payroll process on a defined schedule
  • Entering changes, new hires and terminations into the payroll system
  • Reviewing timecards and resolving any discrepancies
  • Maintaining employee files
  • Properly routing garnishments and support orders
  • Payroll post-processing and report generation
  • In-processing of new employees
  • Administration of internal application portal
  • Job postings using a variety of sources
  • Follow up with job seekers
  • Assist department managers with applicant selection and interview scheduling as needed
  • Occasional attendance at outside events such as career fairs
  • Special projects as assigned

Applicants must possess the following qualities in order to be successful in this role:

  • Extremely detail oriented and dependable
  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Able to prioritize work in order to meet strict deadlines as well as multitask effectively
  • Able to communicate effectively with coworkers as well as upper management
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A balanced blend of “people skills” and “math skills”
  • A high level of organization

Preferred requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, HR, business, or other related field
  • Experience with Paycom HRIS system would be a plus
