About MAC’s DEI Work

Over the past year, MAC has accelerated efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion as business imperatives and community imperatives. In that time, the team has implemented DEI goals for all MAC staff; hosted internal Courageous Conversations, Courageous Media Club, and regular DEI training sessions. In addition, MAC celebrates progress within the community – advocated for the passage of Georgia’s Hate Crimes law and pushed for the passage of second chances legislation; and to date more than 250 companies have committed to ATL Action for Racial Equity.


Responsibilities (What you will do):


The DEI Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and projects of the DEI Team.  This person will be a thought partner and support system for the DEI Leader regarding strategy, programming, and engagement.  This role will also oversee and manage the DEI Working Group efforts (in partnership with the DEI Leader and DEI Working Group Leads), support the ATL Action for Racial Equity initiative, and serve as the POC for all things DEI related for the DEI Team.

  • Independently scope, plan, research, and execute on impactful projects initiated by the DEI Leader (e.g., ATL Action for Racial Equity, DEI strategy planning, DEI Working Group planning, process improvements, volunteer opportunities) 
  • Leads DEI Working Group program strategy, planning, and programming (in partnership with DEI Leader and DEI Working Group Leads)
  • Tracks and communicates progress, challenges, and opportunities; coordinates work streams with team leads to ensure efficient and effective delivery 
  • Helps develop, maintain, and analyze a series of metrics that guide our overall DEI strategy in support of dashboard reports and relevant benchmark data 
  • Critically interprets results and identifies themes, develops preliminary conclusions, and makes recommendations 
  • Structures and develops executive-level presentations and communications to align key partners, set expectations, and communicate progress and results (e.g., project reports, status updates, briefing memos, research summaries, etc.) 
  • Works with vendors to facilitate procurement of services as needed for DEI efforts
  • Works collaboratively across functions to evaluate the need for and advocate for additional DEI data and/or content within key development programs, reporting and resources, as needed 
  • Provide high-level support to DEI leadership in preparing meeting agendas, compiling relevant documents and updates ahead of meetings, and executing on post-meeting follow-up items 
  • Support DEI leadership in developing and sharing data and reports; interpret data to identify key insights that can inform and influence DEI decision-making 
  • Works collaboratively with teams across the company at all levels to evaluate and advocate for DEI data and content 


Qualifications (What you will bring):


  • You have at least 5 years of experience in project and/or program management, preferably within the human capital function or a related field 
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred 
  • You’re an excellent and crisp communicator, both orally and in writing
  • You have a passion for diversity initiatives, with a mind for growth and change 
  • You can easily pivot between strategic and tactical execution and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves at a moment’s notice
  • You’re an intellectually curious and proactive problem-solver who looks to make data-driven decisions
  • You relish navigating and translating ambiguous requests into actionable, clearly defined project plans; you can deftly move past obstacles to get things done
  • You are an exceptionally strong relationship and project manager 
  • You can balance keen attention to detail with swift, seamless execution 
  • You demonstrate strong professional integrity and discretion
