Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester


Purpose: The Alumni Relations co-op will support Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations through assisting with daily alumni engagement duties, aiding in event preparation and day-of operations, and writing and editing social media and marketing communications. The Alumni Relations co-op will be an integral part of the Alumni and Institutional Advancement team, and will have the opportunity to learn and engage with all areas of the work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Aid in daily operations of the Alumni department
  • Support the Alumni Relations team with event planning and preparation for various occasions such as Homecoming, Reunion, Mount Madness, Commencement, and Alumni affinity events
  • Support Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations staff with day-of operations for Mount events
  • Assist with the design and execution of Alumni social media campaigns, including creating graphics and writing language for posts
  • Edit Alumni communications such as Mount News, Around the Mount, and other publications digital or print
  • Assist with stewardship management and contact information/profile updates in CRM database alongside of the Director of Advancement
  • Other duties as assigned

Education: Current Mount St. Joseph University students, with preference given to students with technical backgrounds
Specialized Training: Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs required, CRM experience preferred; Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn); Graphic design knowledge preferred; Or any combination of education, experience, or training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
