Position Summary

Avivo is looking for a passionate Resident Advocates who believe housing is a right to assist with providing a safe, secure, and service-rich environment at Avivo Village.  The Indoor Villages program provides on-site supports to include, medical care, mental health support, meals, housing staff, etc. The role of the Resident Advocate is to ensure safety of the residents by completing home checks, monitoring unwanted guests, passing out meals and beverages as needed, providing for basic needs as requested, pack-up and move resident belongings to storage during time of transition, deescalating resident conflict, and monitoring chemical health concerns. A 24/7 program, we currently have full-time openings on the overnight shift.   SCHEDULES:   10:00 pm to 8:00 am, Friday thru Monday;  or 12am to 8:30 am,  Tuesday - Saturday; 

 

Avivo provides a continuum of integrated services, including access, clinical treatment, care coordination, supportive housing, and recovery support.  We provide services that are innovative, person centered, strength based, and outcome driven.  We strive for the highest quality of services using culturally responsive harm reduction in a trauma informed environment.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide flexible services within a schedule that meets the needs of residents while offering regular and quality contact to build relationships and maintain trust.
  • Respond to resident requests by distributing food and other essential items.
  • Pack-up and move resident belongings to storage during time of transition, adhering to the pack-up and storage procedure as outlined in policy and procedure manual.
  • Conduct crisis prevention and intervention as needed to ensure housing stability and promote holistic health and well-being.
  • Demonstrates a positive and collaborative team approach by endorsing the same purposes and focuses as the team while encouraging trust and cooperation.
  • Works within your team to assure that all benchmarks and goals are achieved and that you are a productive team member who supports the mission.
  • Communicates in a clear, consistent and positive manner to internal and external customers. Actively listens to other team members’ ideas and suggestions and acknowledges the contributions of other team members.
  • Perform in a manner that assures client confidentiality and privacy, in compliance with policies and procedures, HIPAA and  MN Medical Records Act.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience working with adults who have experienced long-term homelessness/with the target population served.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the recovery philosophy and recovery oriented behavioral health services, or willingness to learn recovery principles.
  • Experience with and/or commitment to working in a diverse, continuum of services in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing and delivering culturally responsive services.
  • Ability to de-escalate and mediate client situations.
  • Ability to work independently with residents in home or community settings.
  • Ability to pass a DHS background study.
  • In an effort to support the health and well-being of our staff, participants, and the community,  Avivo will require proof of COVID Vaccination for all New Hires.

 

WAGE:  $17.00 - 19.57 hourly, DOQ
