Job Summary

 

Amnesty International USA is seeking a Digital Production Assistant, responsible for owning the day-to-day production and execution of mission-critical emails, SMS, and webpages for digital fundraising and advocacy campaigns. This position reports directly to the Digital Production Manager and is a member of the Online Engagement Team within the Development Department.

 

This role is a union position and covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), Local 1180.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Distribute fundraising and advocacy emails, newsletters, online petition pages, online donation forms, WordPress web assets, and SMS messages – including coding, building queries, scheduling audiences, and ensuring flawless launches for Amnesty USA’s campaigns
  • Support development of digital user journeys that welcome and reengage activists and members
  • Implement A/B tests to improve email and SMS performance
  • Ensure that all proper tracking and source coding needed for reporting is in place
  • Manage data imports on Engaging Networks of valuable audiences to grow Amnesty USA’s universe of activists and members
  • Work alongside Digital Production Manager to oversee email and SMS production calendars and project management tools related to production 
  • Liaise with Digital Production Manager for troubleshooting and/or figuring out trickier situations during implementation
  • Maintain email list hygiene to ensure strong deliverability
  • Track results of email and SMS campaigns to help the team understand performance, create benchmarks, and optimize future campaigns
  • Proofread messaging for digital communications, including email, SMS, and web pages; paying close attention to detail and ensuring strong quality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

 

  • Skilled in using at least one email software; i.e. ActionKit, EveryAction, Luminate, NGP Van, Salesforce, Engaging Networks
  • Strong digital aptitude with the ability to learn quickly
  • Eager to ask questions to discover program structure and processes
  • Ability to track, analyze, and summarize digital performance data
  • Ability to follow quality assurance procedures to ensure professional quality external products
  • Strong team player with the ability to support colleagues across the unit/organization with various projects
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain focus and prioritize while working on multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Ability to understand and proofread strategic & persuasive messaging
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic competency in HTML
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Creative problem solver
  • Skill using at least one content management system is a plus

 

 

Education and Experience

 

  • High school diploma or BA/BS and at least 1 year of experience  relevant professional experience
  • Experience working with eCRM technology, including coding and troubleshooting emails, supporting building donation and petition pages, building audiences, and QAing emails
  • Proficiency in working with Excel
  • Experience coding in HTML and CSS as it pertains to either email or web required
  • Experience in a fast paced-digital and/or communications role preferred

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time

 

 

Travel Requirements

 

  • Some travel for annual meetings

Remote and Hybrid Workplace Policy
