Position Summary:

Bio-techne is currently seeking to fill the role of a Research Associate as it grows its gene delivery team. The Research Associate has a solid understanding of cell culture practices including cell maintenance, transfection optimization and downstream analysis including flow cytometry and western blotting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all the projects related to the development, optimization and manufacture of our proprietary gene editing tools.
  • Design and execute experiments for the testing of new proprietary transposon technology and gene editing platforms.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • MS/Bachelors degree with a minimum of 0 - 2 years of related academic or industrial experience in molecular biology.
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture technique, and various transfection platforms such as lipofection, electroporation and nucleofection techniques, flow cytometry, and western blotting.
  • Experience in molecular cloning techniques that include golden gate, Gibson assembly, Gateway, and Type I cloning.
  • Familiar with vector map building using software such as Ape, Vector NTI, Snapgene, Benchling etc.
  • The ability to work successfully both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, manages time well and will put in extended time as needed.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Flexibility to perform the small tasks as well as the big tasks while working in a rapidly developing environment.
  • Experience welcomed but not necessary:
  • Experience in molecular cloning techniques that include golden gate, Gibson assembly, Gateway, and Type I cloning.
  • Familiar with vector map building using software such as Ape, Vector NTI, Snapgene, Benchling etc.
