$21.30 - $23.17 Hourly

Developmental Pathways (DP) is seeking a Billing Coordinator who will perform day-to-day billing functions and will contribute to cross departmental collaboration to ensure accuracy of billing as well as meeting financial deadlines. Our Billing Coordinator will participate in the creation of efficiencies to streamline department processes and will also provide customer service to internal and external customers.

This is a 40-hour week, hybrid position, working remotely and coming into our headquarters office in Aurora, CO and/or off-site locations, as needed.  

Additional Responsibilities

  • Bill claims/services and miscellaneous items to insurance companies within the monthly billing cycle
  • Research and re-bill unpaid claims or other outstanding receivables
  • Maintain billing records
  • Contact insurance companies and customers when payments are not received in a timely manner for the purpose of collections
  • Assist in schedule/document preparation for the annual audit as needed; assist with governmental billing audits as needed
  • Perform weekly/monthly billing reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations related to governmental insurance
  • Monitor and ensure that billing files are maintained according to agency and governmental standards
  • Provide backup for cash posting when necessary
  • Responsible for reporting weekly/monthly billing

  • Certification in medical billing or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in the field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate and be able to provide consistent customer service
  • High degree of accuracy with time-sensitive, detailed information



  • Experience in health insurance policies and procedures with an emphasis on Medicaid and commercial insurances
  • 3+ years of medical billing experience
