Job purpose

Working as part of a team and utilizing resources to add values to clients, Credits and Incentives Staff employees work to help clients reduce their tax liability through federal and state tax credits and incentives.

Duties and responsibilities

Commitment to Client Service

  • Develops effective working relationships with clients and firm associates
  • Collaborates with others to provide quality service to clients
  • Communicates professionally with clients under supervision of managers and seniors
  • Maintains a current knowledge of tax regulations for R&D and Cost Segregation
  • Translates verbose tax credits into digestible content for clients

Technical Skills

  • Attends client site visits
  • Accurately applies income tax laws to client situations
  • Thoroughly and accurately analyzes information and prepares quality, practical approaches to client’s tax situation
  • Interprets and applies legislation when applicable
  • Accurately performs research and writes technical memorandum in a readable format
  • Conducts research, analysis, development and summarization of financial information
  • Creates and maintains engagement binders

Leading People

  • Builds and maintains positive relationships across the firm
  • Supports Interns in professional development
  • Contributes and supports new ideas

Business Results

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of federal and state credit and incentive programs including, but not limited to:  R&D and Cost Segregation
  • Maintains open communication with management regarding the progress of completion on projects
  • Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities
  • Conducts a detailed self-review before submitting each project
  • Utilizes computer applications and relevant technology effectively
  • Enters time daily

Executive Presence

  • Participates in Firm events
  • Commits to outside reading, studying and professional growth
  • Completion of or actively studying and preparing for the CPA exam or BAR exam

Qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree required, Master’s or J.D. preferred
  • Basic knowledge of tax law, statutory interpretation and tax credits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills­­­­­­
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple engagements simultaneously
