ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned by the Food & Beverage Supervisor, Food & Beverage Manager, Food & Beverage Executive, or General Manager.

Guest Services: 90%

  • Prepare and serve accurate drinks and food as requested by guests
  • Assist barbacks and servers in their job functions to ensure smooth and efficient service to guests
  • Clearly communicate last call at designated closing time to guests, barbacks, and servers


Administrative Tasks: 10%

  • Maintain cleanliness standards
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer balance
  • Clean and reset bar top and tables immediately after guests depart
  • Clean glassware in glass machine
  • Tip-out servers at the end of their shift
  • Collect and report your tips at the end of the shift
  • Legibly complete bottle transfer slips and distribute accurately
  • Legibly document designated items on the spill sheet
  • Ensure maximum usage of all supplies to attain budgeted beverage cost and to prevent waste
  • Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned and document all necessary reports
  • Properly store all reusable goods
  • Proper storage and security of all liquors, beers, wines in coolers, cabinets, and storage areas
  • Clean bar equipment
  • Remove trash
  • Sweep and mop floor behind the bar
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventories
  • Update bar menus and wine lists when appropriate
  • Maintain complete knowledge of state liquor regulations

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six months experience as a bartender.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, or use telephone. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and or smell. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to stand on feet for 8 hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to handle various cleaning equipment. Floors may be slippery. Will carry large items and push carts, which need to be cautiously positioned and transported. Broken glass or hot liquids may also be present and must be carefully handled. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
