SUMMARY: Responsible for providing service throughout the entire room service process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned by the Food & Beverage Supervisor, Food & Beverage Manager, Food & Beverage Executive, or General Manager.

Guest Services: 90%

  • Ensure that the highest quality product is provided to the guests in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Responsible for seating guests and maintaining guest counts
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable in all menu items, pricing, and other services provided by Room Service
  • Receives proper payment from guest and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment in order to safeguard customer and company
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Responds to customer inquiries and comments in person and on telephone by providing timely and knowledgeable information in order to provide quality customer service
  • Answer and relay messages via phone to Manager on Duty

Administrative Tasks: 10%

  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Practice all sanitation and safety guidelines provided by the Health Department and hotel
  • Perform exceptional communication skills throughout all job duties

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, or use telephone. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and or smell. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to stand on feet for 8 hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to handle various cleaning equipment. Floors may be slippery. Will carry large items and push carts, which need to be cautiously positioned and transported. Broken glass or hot liquids may also be present and must be carefully handled. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
