ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY: Responsible for exceeding guest expectations, providing excellent customer service, and meeting the needs of the guests at the front desk.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned by the Front Desk Supervisor, Front Desk Manager, Director of Rooms, or General Manager.

Guest Services: 90%

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Anticipate and respond to guest requests
  • Handle items for the “Lost and Found” according to standards
  • Handle billing questions or inquiries
  • Check guests in and out of the hotel

Administrative: 10%

  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
  • Comply at all times with hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding all Marriott and hotel standards
  • Responsible for safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of service areas
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees, and other departments
  • Attend daily standup meeting with Rooms Department
  • Have knowledge of the hotel guest rooms, their locations, and their amenities
  • Have knowledge of the hotel, Bix, Spa, and other department hours
  • Conduct a daily house count and expected arrivals and departures
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: each essential duty satisfactorily. skill, and/or ability required.

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees
  • Must be outgoing and friendly and be able to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Must have the ability to communicate in a positive and understanding manner
  • Must be able to pass a background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in hospitality or related field preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the person must be able to remain in a stationary position. The person must be able to constantly operate a computer and telephone to communicate with potential guests.

WORK SCHEDULE: Work a part or full time varied schedule including days, nights, weekdays, and weekends as assigned by department Supervisor or Manager.
