Job Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, CPA or CMA required.
  2. Five years accounting experience required.
  3. Knowledge of financial accounting and auditing practices and procedures.
  4. Knowledge of manufacturing supply chain and/or agriculture industry preferred.
  5. Working knowledge of accounting software database system structures.
  6. Requires sound written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.  
  7. Must be able to organize, coordinate and delegate projects.
  8. Must have strong analytical skills.
  9. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  11. Knowledge and familiarity with ERP software – Sage X3

Job Summary:

This position maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. The role requires individual initiative, organizational skills and willingness to travel, while working in a team environment.

Job Duties:

  1. Oversee all internal and external corporate financial reporting and liaise with other senior leaders on a variety of reporting and financial business matters.
  2. Oversee the monthly financial closing and consolidation processes, along with leading the year-end external audit.
  3. Preparation of company books to support lending institution audits and collateral exams.
  4. Work in conjunction with Internal Tax to provide all necessary documentation for the company’s year-end income tax provision and estimated payments.
  5. Work with Treasurer to maximize return, and limit risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances, making investments.
  6. Support and/or oversee (from a business user perspective) all systems and processes supporting financial accounting, consolidation, and reporting software, along with all controls and business processes around the monthly financial consolidations and closing processes
  7. Serve in leadership roles within various initiatives surrounding M&A, financial planning, capital structure modeling and business operations.
  8. Drive automation, efficiency, and scalability initiatives to meet growth requirements.
  9. Leverage cross functional capabilities to ensure that financial objectives can be met while supporting organizational growth.
  10. Continue to develop and evolve the accounting team with an infrastructure that will support growth and will align departmental goals with corporate goals.
  11. Ensure strong internal controls by building and maintaining effective processes and systems.
  12. Notify immediate supervisor if you identify or recommend ways to improve process efficiency.
  13. Minimal travel (domestic & international) may be required on an as needed basis.
  14. Maintain sanitary and safe work environment and follow safety requirements.
  15. May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee.
  16. Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  17. Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.
  18. Must adhere to all company policies.
  19. Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  20. Follow all SOPs in a given area.
  21. Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or designee.
