The Accounting Manager oversees the Accounting and Accounts Payable Teams and their functions to ensure compliance, process improvements and efficiencies, company goal alignment and achievement. This role reports into the VP of Accounting for inclusion, decision-making and visibility into each business unit’s financial status. Transflo operates in a private-equity relationship and its operations are domiciled in North America.
Job Responsibilities:
· Lead an Accounting and Accounts Payable Team of 3 employees; continue to develop and maintain a head-of-class team
· Prepare monthly internal financial statements and operational reporting per department and product
· Prepare/assist in the monthly financial reporting packages and meetings to the management team
· Assist in leading the annual audit process including preparation of requested audit schedules
· Assist in local tax compliance ensuring filings are accurate and timely
· Assist with the federal tax reporting process, working with internal and external resources
· Collaborate cross-functionally to best understand business issues and proper accounting treatment
· Special projects and analysis
· Promote continuous improvement in every phase of the Accounting Operations functions
· Develop the staff to take on higher levels of responsibility and cross-train throughout the Accounting Department
Essential Qualifications:
· CPA and bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
· 5+ years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience
· Software and subscription-based business (SaaS) experience, preferred
· Experience with Private Equity-backed or Publicly Traded companies, preferred
· Ability to supervise, mentor and develop staff accountants and finance professionals within the organization
· Experience in NetSuite is a plus
· Strong GAAP technical accounting skills
· Ability to interface and communicate effectively with senior executives and staff level employees
· Understanding FX transactions, particularly Canadian, is a plus
