Full Time

You jump right in and do the work to truly understand the customer’s journey and what makes a client’s target audience tick. You have experience with goal-oriented, branded content-style publishing; have exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; and thrive in a client-facing role. A Content Specialist / Supervisor at Two Rivers Marketing contributes to the content plan for a mix of B2B and B2C clients — coordinating with a team of writers, designers, content creators, and channel leads to plan and fulfill significant monthly content needs across print, social, and digital channels.

  • Lead the customer story process and the content gathering needs required to meet the content plan.
  • Deliver guidance for on-location photo/video shoots and direct the story angle and various uses of the content.
  • Create written content for print and digital resources based on content marketing strategy.
  • Coordinate with other content writers or designers to help deliver quality work.
  • Work with the content manager to help develop quarterly or monthly content plans for key client audiences.
  • Assist the Content Manager and Content Director with updating content marketing strategies based on the client’s unique business model, company budget, and desired outcomes.
  • Monitor content marketing results, make changes to the content marketing plan as a result of metrics, and provide insights and recommendations based on findings.
  • Observe and provide insights on competitors in the client’s industry to identify their strengths and weaknesses in the marketplace.
  • Identify target audiences of the client’s content materials — learn their preferences, expectations, and ultimate needs to deliver the content they will be most interested in.
  • Identify key messages to effectively communicate the client's brand, message, and voice.
  • Have working knowledge or experience with content marketing tools intended to drive traffic, generate leads, convert them, and retain customers.
  • Follow content marketing and design trends across social, digital, and print channels to implement innovative practices.
  • Edit and proofread content created by other writers for quality assurance.
  • Have basic SEO understanding and work with SEO specialists to ensure all content is optimized.
  • Lead special projects, as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field
  • 4–5 years proven experience working as a content creator, content marketer, or editor in an agency environment
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a solid understanding of storytelling
  • Editorial mindset with an ability to predict audience preferences
  • Experience with and knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics

  • Project management skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with strategic planning, measurement/evaluation, and analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
