Description

The Part-Time Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the Kansas City office by performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties.  This is a part time position, 25 hours per week, Monday- Friday.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Responsible for providing phone reception duties as part of the regular reception area coverage schedule and provides additional support during peak volume times.
  2. Serves, in a calm, courteous and professional manner, as a key point of contact for all incoming calls, visitors, patients, deliveries and faxes for the organization.
  3. Serves as the customer service representative for laboratory clients regarding specimen pick up requests; maintains pick up logs for courier; calls in courier requests; notifies appropriate personnel of courier deliveries.
  4. Provides general support to Kansas City management and staff as needed to accomplish staff daily responsibilities including mailings, general correspondence, meeting/event preparation and any additional tasks as requested by the Manager, Administrative Support. 
  5. Coordinates daily the collection and distribution of outgoing and incoming mail and incoming deliveries as required.
  6. Assists in monitoring and coordinating par levels of organizational supplies.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

  1. High school diploma or equivalent with one to two years of related work experience required.  Previous customer service, reception or general office experience preferred.
  2. Ability to work a five-hour shift Monday to Friday required.
  3. Excellent communication skills; professionalism in working with all personnel levels and the general public; ability to perform in a calm, friendly, efficient manner during high traffic and high call volume required.
  4. Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  5. Adaptable, dependable and ethical. 
  6. Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy.  Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines.  Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.
  7. Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
  8. Possess ability to operate telephones, computers and office equipment.
  9. Ability to speak and communicate clearly in order to accurately convey information in person or by phone.
  10. OSHA Category III – No exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing assigned job duties.
  11. Home internet and wireless phone access may be required.
