SUMMARY: Logan University is welcoming applications for an Advancement Coordinator to assist in the administration of the institution’s fundraising program. The Advancement Coordinator serves as a key member of the team, coordinating the daily operations of the office. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the advancement team and open to additional career development in the non-profit/fundraising field. He/She must be comfortable in a start-up environment, developing new strategies rather than executing long-established programs.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the implementation of a comprehensive annual fundraising program. Assist in submitting and tracking fundraising proposals, managing special event details, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and serving as a conduit for a wide range of administrative tasks.
  • Spearhead all donor communication, including the development of thank you letters, in-kind donation forms, tax substantiation letters, and other correspondence as needed.
  • Ensure accurate database records by managing all data entry, consistently updating donor and alumni contact information, and processing gifts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with the Financial Aid and Finance Departments to maintain the advancement scholarship files, track donor gifts and pledges, update scholarship recipient information, and ensure accurate and timely communication with scholarship donors.
  • Partner with the business office to maintain appropriate gift acceptance procedures, and track monthly revenue according to accounting standards.
  • Keep the advancement team informed of progress towards financial goals by working within the database to write appropriate and accurate queries and reports.
  • Maintain a database of named spaces on campus as well as a list of open naming opportunities available for funding.
  • Assist in the execution of a comprehensive donor stewardship program.
  • Manage the department SharePoint site and organizing important documents and files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the department and/or Logan University.

 

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES:  Must be detail minded, have good organizational, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to proof own work for grammar and spelling.  Must be able to work well independently and with others.

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related experience in a professional environment.
  • Experience managing a donor database or CRM.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills. Strong listening and problem-solving abilities with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism, and to handle sensitive and proprietary financial information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to the vision, mission and values of Logan University.
  • Knowledge of, and experience supporting the major components of a development program preferred.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher and ability to learn new programs as needed.
