Under the general direction of the Program Coordinator, the Outreach and Enrollment Specialist is responsible for conducting outreach and enrollment activities that will inform and educate the community about Medicaid and CHIP services. This position will also assist individuals to obtain information that is necessary to apply and enroll. This position reports to the Program Coordinator.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successfully complete required training
- Meet established goals and performance standards
- Conduct community outreach in assigned areas, according to monthly schedule and in accordance with program policies and procedures
- Assist families with getting needed services, including application assistance, information, referrals, and/or other needed services
- Educate the community in a fair and impartial manner about the importance of insurance offered and availability of such in their community
- Assist individuals to obtain income and related information necessary to verify eligibility for other programs
- Educate the community about the importance of programs offered and the availability of such in their community
- Maintain accurate records of outreach sessions and other program-related activities
- Compile and submit weekly activity reports to the program supervisors; 90% of reports must be submitted on time
- Assis in developing promotions strategies that will increase the community awareness of programs
- Attend 90% of supervision sessions, meetings, and in-service training sessions
- Conduct self-in professional manner; observe ethical standards and agency policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
